In Phasmophobia kan je alleen of met enkele vrienden op spoken jagen. De horrortitel ligt al enkele jaren in de (virtuele) winkelrekken en blijkt populair genoeg om een uitstapje buiten het videogamemedium te wagen. Er is namelijk een film in de maak, die de griezelige spelwereld van Phasmophobia als uitgangspunt neemt.
De betrokken zielen zijn overigens niet de minste. Met Blumhouse krijgt de Phasmophobia-film alvast een expert in het genre als uitgever, terwijl het productiehuis Atomic Monster van James Wan (Saw, The Conjuring) ook heel goed weet waar het mee bezig is. Ontwikkelaar Kinecti Games is alvast zeer enthousiast over het project.
