Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake is officieel beoordeeld door de ESRB. De game krijgt, net als het origineel uit 2003, een Teen-rating. Daarmee lijkt de langverwachte remake een belangrijke stap richting release te zetten.
ESRB-rating bevestigt bekende inhoud
Volgens de beoordeling van ESRB bevat de game bloed, gedeeltelijke naaktheid, seksuele thema’s en geweld. Spelers kruipen opnieuw in de huid van de Perzische prins die een vloek probeert te verbreken.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is rated T for Teen by the ESRB with Blood, Partial Nudity, Sexual Themes, and Violence. This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of a Persian prince on a quest to break a curse. From a third-person perspective, players traverse platform environments, sole puzzles, avoid traps (e.g., spike pits, wall-mounted blades and saws), and battle cursed soldiers and creatures made of sand. Players use swords and daggers to defeat enemies in melee-style combat. Battles are accompanied by sword clashing, cries of pain, blood-splatter and slow-motion effects. A 2D side-scrolling sequence (i.e., the original version of Prince of Persia) depicts blood pools when the prince is killed. During the course of the game, a female character’s buttocks is briefly exposed; she and the prince are shown kissing and caressing each other in bed (implying sex), though camera angles obscure breasts and genitalia, as the camera fades to black.
Release lijkt dichterbij te komen
Volgens informatie van Insider Gaming lag er intern ooit een planning om de game medio januari uit te brengen. Die datum is niet bevestigd en kan nog wijzigen.
Wel wijst meerdere signalen op een aanstaande aankondiging. Zo zou de officiële website van de game recent zijn aangepast, wat vaak gebeurt in aanloop naar marketing of een releasedatum.
De ESRB-rating noemt versies voor Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 en pc. PlayStation 5 en Switch worden nog niet genoemd, maar dat kan veranderen zodra Ubisoft de remake officieel onthult.
