Evolve was een ambitieuze game van 2K Games en Turtle Rock en hoewel de game goede beoordelingen kreeg, is het nooit een gigantisch succes geworden. De game ging na de release ook free-to-play op de pc en dat zorgde voor een boost in spelers, maar dat is inmiddels ook al bijna twee jaar geleden.

2K Games heeft aangekondigd een aantal online functionaliteiten uit te gaan schakelen vanaf juli. Iedereen die DLC heeft aangeschaft, die blijft daar toegang toe hebben en het is mogelijk om de in-game valuta te blijven gebruiken totdat de digitale winkels gesloten worden.

Vanaf 3 september zullen de dedicated servers gesloten worden, wel kan er online gespeeld worden via de peer-to-peer multiplayer. Hieronder alle details.

What features will still be functional in Legacy Evolve?

Multiplayer – Peer-to-peer multiplayer: Players will be able to team up and play against each other through peer-to-peer matchmaking. Players are also able to use the party-up feature to create games.
